| This website is the realization of a dream we've had for many years: to evolve financial services training at the speed of need. |
Until recently, training was restricted by distance, expense, lost opportunity, and lack of follow-up. Program attendees likely forgot fifty percent of what they heard within twenty-four hours and used just five percent of what they learned. Looking back on our programs, it was not unusual to see a 1mm+ producer come through a full two-day session every eighteen months! While we were certainly flattered by that type of commitment, we would often find that the FA really only needed help in a few key areas but had to sit through many programs to get a few critical pieces of missing knowledge. There is finally a better way! Attempting to describe the importance of internet-based technology is like trying to describe every possible use for water or electricity. However, the reality is that the internet gives us tools that can change the way we work. We use face-to-face programs, wholesaler follow-up, and internet-based delivered content to change the way planning-based FAs learn. We hope you take advantage of this unique opportunity. The PSBtraining.com website evolves organically. We maintain an open forum directed entirely toward the needs of FA's, to enable us to grow into our collective future together. PSBtraining.com is comprised of Bob Payne, Larry Biederman, Nancy Petrucelli and Stan Craig. If you're not familiar with the principals, feel free to link to the bio's. PSBtraining.com: Our History We formerly produced three-month programs comprised of an initial face-to-face session, a three-hour smaller group session in the second month, and a one-hour final follow-up section in the third month. We were astounded that ninety percent of the FAs that began those programs from 1989-1991 went through all three phases and returned repeatedly in subsequent years. These were undoubtedly the most meaningful programs we've ever run. The success of these programs was attributable to the duration of our involvement with the FA's business, which afforded them sufficient support and reinforcement as they evolved through key transition phases. Unfortunately, time and business constraints made it impossible to continue training in that format. However, recently developed Internet technologies finally allow training over the Internet almost as if we were there and just in time. In fact, we call this type of training "just in time." Our company is dedicated to continually evolving our ability to efficiently and effectively deliver high-end information. Access to our website is restricted to subscribers. Public access is denied. Simply give us your name and email address and you're ready to go. Our site is organized by both categories and topics, each element evolving organically and dedicated to timely, useful content.. The Mutual Fund Reference Guide We publish Bob's Mutual Fund Reference Guide using public domain information in a downloadable spreadsheet format. It should be construed as news, not research. As with anything on our site, it is the FA's responsibility to obtain compliance approval where needed. If you're not sure, ask. The Daily Wave Good FAs' often learn by trading stories. Looking back on our many years of production, we recall frequent conversations, often two or three times a day, about what we were doing, saying, thinking, selling or buying. These conversations covered topics ranging from prospecting approaches to advanced portfolio planning and management techniques. We often felt that our ability to grow into successful producers was directly related to our desire to share with one another as well as others. We could only imagine what might happen if we were able to expand this sharing capability beyond the very few. Contained in this section will be audio files (waves) and text that will be updated several times a week. The content may include conversations between PSB principals, a story from a field practitioner, or any other contribution that might assist investment professionals in the development of their businesses. These sound files will be available in streaming format throughout the website.
